Fidler

I am a 7th generation descendant of Timothy and Anna (Wilson) Fidler.

[Timothy Fidler --> Eleanor Fidler Jacques --> Anna Jacques Hixon --> Mary Hixon Gregory --> Sarah Ellen Gregory Stouffer --> Mary Myrtle Stouffer Ranck --> Philip Gregory Ranck --> John Philip Ranck]

Until 1999, long after the death of my father and grandmother, all that I knew about this family was that my grandmother’s folks came from “Green Lane Fruit Farm.” Some local investigation led to my discovering the “Hixon/Gregory” cemetery, then unattended for many years with fallen and broken gravestones and heavily overgrown. Through several summers, restoration of the cemetery was accomplished and I began to research this line of ancestors.

Most of what I know about this family prior to 1850 comes from Hazel M. Kendall's 1958 publication “Fidler Lore,” transcribed and indexed by Donnadeane Depew, 1989. A copy of this 132 page booklet is available on this site and also from the LDS Family History Library. I have told the story very briefly here.

If you are a descendant of Timothy and Anna Fidler or otherwise connected with this family, I would greatly appreciate hearing from you.
